Being a point release, it contains various hot fixes and accessibility compliance updates. - Domino MTA for R/3 As SMTP is the only supported mail interface for SAP 4.7 and later, and SAP plans to desupport the 4.6 release stream, the Domino MTA for R/3 is obsolete. IBM will no longer issue new releases of this product. Existing users of the MTA can continue to receive support from IBM for the 1.7.1 release of the MTA until such time as SAP formally ends support for release 4.6 of their software. - SAP libraries You must get you SAP libraries directly from SAP. Please see the client libraries section of System Requirements below. - Updated platform and application version support Support for the Linux platform has been added. The Lotus Connector for SAP Solutions version 1.7.2 can be used in conjunction with the following: - LEI 6.x, 7.x and/or DECS on Domino 6.x, 7.x - LC LSX on Domino 6.x, 7.x - Updated SAP Solution R/3 version support with caveat The Lotus Connector for SAP Solutions version 1.7.2 supports SAP 4.6 and later, including SAP 4.7 Enterprise. See the "SAP R/3 version Support" entry in section B below. - Updates and hot fixes All hot fixes and resolved SPRs prior to this release have been incorporated into this release. Key fixes are listed in the What's Been Fixed section of this readme. The documentation set, including readme.txt, is available for online viewing and download at the LDD http://www.lotus.com/doc for the product title Lotus Connector for SAP Solutions. LEI and DECS documentation sets are also located at this Web site. B) System Requirements This release of the Lotus Connector for SAP Solutions is supported by Domino 6.x, 7.x and greater (including LEI 6.x, 7.x and greater). For platform support specific to your Domino version, please see the configuration and support documentation provided with your product. For example, if you are using LEI 6.5, see the platform support information in the LEI installation guide and readme.txt at the LDD in the Documentation library for the Enterprise Integrator product at http://www.lotus.com/doc. ** SAP R/3 Version Support ** The Lotus Connector for SAP Solutions version 1.7.2 supports SAP 4.6 and later, including SAP 4.7 Enterprise. The Domino Access to SAP Business Workflow product supports SAP 4.6 and later, including SAP 4.7 Enterprise. ** Lotus Software Version Support ** The Lotus Connector for SAP Solutions Version 1.7.2 is available for use with the Domino 6.x, 7.x or greater server. The Connector requires the following: - Notes 6.x, 7.x or greater client with Domino 6.x,7.x or greater server In this configuration, the LEI Release 6.x,7.x and greater product stream is supported. The LC LSX and DECS versions that ship with Domino 6.x,7.x or greater are also supported. This configuration uses Lotus .dcx connector files. ** Client Libraries ** - Client libraries from SAP are now required by the Connector. These files can be found in a number of places in the online SAP Software Distribution Center section of the SAP Support Portal. To access: - Go to Downloads - Go to the SAP Software Distribution Center - Select Support Packages and Patches - Select Search for Support Packages and Patches - Search for RFCSDK - Find the 6.40 RFCSDK for where your SAP connector will be running. Note: On W32, AIX, Solaris and Linux the SAP connector is currently a 32 bit application, so be sure to download 32 versions of the RFCSDK. These are the files needed, by platform: Win32: librfc32.dll - to be copied to \SYSTEM32 directory AIX: librfccm.o - to be copied to your Domino program directory, for example: /opt/lotus/notes/latest/ibmpow/ Solaris: librfccm.so - to be copied to your Domino program directory, for example: /opt/lotus/notes/latest/sunspa/ LINUX: librfccm.so - to be copied to your Domino program directory, for example: /opt/lotus/notes/latest/linux/ For i5/OS: - Go to the SAP Software Distribution Center - Select Download - Select Entry by Application Group - Select Additional Components - Select SAP RFC SDK - Select SAP RFC SDK 6.40 - Select OS/400 - There you will find RFC_A_23-20001155.SVF - a save file. When you restore this on i5/OS, make sure that the library is R3640ARFC and that LIBRFC allows the QNOTES user to use it. A full SAPGUI client is only required when using Domino Access to SAP Business Workflow. In that scenario, the SAPGUI must be installed on the Notes client, but not on the Domino server. C) Install and Uninstall Considerations - If you receive a message during Connector install or instructing you to reboot, please do so. Adverse effects may otherwise occur. - If you a performing an upgrade and are asked to uninstall first, and should that uninstall process require a reboot, you must reboot before re-running the installation program. Failure to do so could lead to the nsap.lcx or nsap.dcx files being deleted from your system after your next reboot. You should reboot after uninstall and after install/re-install to avoid this undesirable behavior. - On the Linux platform, an error may occur during install as described below. If this occurs, re-run the installer to correct the problem and properly install. Error message is "Failed to install DECS/LEI forms." Contents of the adminupdater.err in your tmp directory is: ADMINUPDATE is running ... Error: Unable to open database /tmp/ismp001/sapadD6.ntf. File modified at operating-system level - For SAP licensing questions, contact your SAP representative. D) Installing the IBM Lotus Connector for SAP Solutions - Before installing to an iSeries platform, you must do the following to establish the correct access rights in the Notes ID file. The ID file must share its password with other Notes-based programs. - The Notes client must be running when the iSeries installer runs. - The install process is described fully in the Lotus Connector for SAP Solutions Installation Guide supplied with your Connector and in Web-browseable and download form at http://www.lotus.com/doc on the Lotus Connector for SAP Solutions product page. E) Uninstalling the Lotus Connector for SAP Solutions - The uninstall process is described fully in the Lotus Connector for SAP Solutions Installation Guide supplied with your Connector and in Web-browseable form at http://www.lotus.com/doc on the Lotus Connector for SAP Solutions product page. - The uninstall process does not remove the Lotus Connector for SAP Solutions from the iSeries platform. This allows a single Windows system to install to multiple iSeries Domino systems. F) Documentation Errata - The "Software Requirements and Considerations" section of the installation guide incorrectly states that the SAP client must be installed; this is untrue. The following statement should be removed: If using the Connector in conjunction with LEI, client libraries of the external systems to be accessed (SAP R/3 and any connection types that you want to transfer to and from) must be installed on the LEI server and the Domino server. Note: This has been corrected in the "FIX PACK" version of the documentation set. - There may be instances of LEI or DECS screen images that are out of date with the latest release of those products. See the LEI and/or DECS documentation set available at the LDD Documentation library for the most current versions of that related documentation at http://www.lotus.com/ldd. G) What's Been Fixed in Version 1.7.2 The following issues have been resolved in this release. > IBM Lotus Connector for SAP Solutions < A problem with RFC_READ_TABLE has been fixed, where incorrect handling of the OPTIONS input table caused data to not be properly returned. A problem with RFC_READ_TABLE has been fixed, where SAP 4.7 and later do not null out IMPORT parameters not used. The parameters are ROWCOUNT and ROWSKIPS. These are now explicity set to 0. SAP data type 'L' is not supported. A fix has been made to no longer crash when this data type is encountered. The IMPORT or EXPORT parameter of this data type will not appear in the METADATA field list. A crash problem that could occur upon reconnects to SAP systems has been fixed. The crash shows up in NSDs as being in the call release interface. The internal format for text in the SAP connector for scripts (LSXLC) is now by default UTF8. For non-UNICODE systems, this may cause character corruption. To fix this, set your LCConnection object for SAP property SAPReadCodePage to LCSTREAMFMT_NATIVE. This is the default format used in SAP connection documents for LEI and DECS, for all platforms except i5/OS, where the default is LCSTREAMFMT_IBMCP819, which corresponds to US ASCII. A crash problem has been fixed with the password change functionality. If SAP does not accept your new password, it nulls out a parameter which was previously used without checking for null. > Domino Access to SAP Business Workflow < Domino Access to SAP Business Workflow now also supports SAP 5.0 and 6.0. ***************************************************************************** THIS DOCUMENTATION IS PROVIDED FOR REFERENCE PURPOSES ONLY.
