C) Installation and Migration Considerations See the LEI Installation Guide (leiig.nsf) supplied with LEI and available as both a .nsf file and an HTML browseable at Lotus Documentation site (http://www.lotus.com/doc) on the Enterprise Integrator product page for LEI installation and migration instructions. See below for related considerations. D) Installing LEI - General Instructions See the Installation Guide (leiig.nsf) supplied with LEI and also available as both a .nsf file and an HTML browseable at the Lotus Documentation site (http://www.lotus.com/doc) on the Enterprise Integrator product page for complete LEI installation and migration instructions. See below for related considerations. Before installing to a UNIX platform, you must do the following: - Set the correct access controls in the names.nsf file on the Domino server. - Establish the correct access rights in the Notes ID file. - Ensure that all needed environment variables are set and exported. - Ensure that you have loaded and configured X Window system software. If you will be installing LEI to a Notes client, set the Notes ID to share its password with other Notes-based systems, as documented in the LEI installation guide. To avoid multiple promptings for password, ensure that your Notes client is running during LEI install. E) Uninstalling LEI The LEI uninstall process is explained fully in the Installation Guide (leiig.nsf) supplied with LEI and also available as both a .nsf file and an HTML browseable at the Lotus Documentation site (http://www.lotus.com/doc) on the Enterprise Integrator product page. F) Operational Considerations LEI Tech Notes and other user information can be found at http://www-3.ibm.com/software/lotus/support/integration/support.html. The Lotus Connector LotusScript Extensions Guide (lsxlc6.nsf) and Lotus Connectors and Connectivity Guide (lccon6.nsf) are not supplied with LEI. You can obtain them at the LDD Documentation Library http://www.lotus.com/doc or with your Domino release. G) What's Been Fixed in LEI Release 6.5.4 The following issues have been resolved in LEI release 6.5.4: Activities: -- Using the Create Record option with an Open event and a value less than 0.1, the Virtual Fields activity drops decimals. This issue has been resolved. -- Using the Virtual Fields activity in LEI or DECS, an "Invalid fieldlist" error occurs when using the Form Override option. A hotfix was created to correct this problem. This issue has been resolved. -- Notes database profile documents incorrectly trigger Virtual Fields activities. If a virtual fields activity is configured to monitor all of the forms, it will catch profile document events even if the profile documents have no form. This generates an "Error: Realtime service is unable to update document due to key field changes" error message. -- LEI attempts to write too much information to a single LEI server log when many activities run within 24 hours. The LEI server log becomes corrupt and LEI stops working correctly. This issue has been resolved. -- Reassociating to second .jpg file using an Virtual Fields activity results in .jpg corruption. Also, if you delete the record and attachments, the damaged jpg is not deleted from the attachment table. This issue has been resolved. -- Starting and ending a Virtual Fields activity can cause a memory leak. This issue has been resolved. -- If you use the Virtual Documents option to let the system create an external key table for you, the table is created but the EINOTEPROPS column is the wrong size whether you accept the default size or specify the size. The VARCHAR column size will be 32673 bytes. This issue has been resolved. -- Rich text may not transfer in Notes to Notes activity transfers. This issue has been resolved. -- The Direct Transfer activity may not correctly transfer data when using the"Number of Records to Transfer Concurrently" option. This issue has been resolved. -- The LEI activities report was using a very small font. This issue has been resolved. Connectors: -- The Lotus Connector for ODBC 6.5 did not transfer the BIGINT data type correctly to Notes. This issue has been resolved. -- The activity document option "Disable Trimming of Text Trailing Spaces" is not working for DB2 VARCHAR fields. Trimming occurs even when this option is disabled. This issue has been resolved. -- When transferring to a Notes database, the DB2 connector transfers a null VARCHAR entry as an empty string. This issue has been resolved. -- When the DB2 connector was stopped or disconnected during an activity, it did not reconnect properly. This issue has been resolved. -- Using the Oracle connector's Execute function, when the Writeback property is set to True, yields the error message "Invalid property value for property Writeback". This issue has been resolved. -- Null time fields don't replicate to DB2 when mapping using the "map nulls to default" option. This issue has been resolved. -- Using LEI on iSeries, the DataDirect ODBC drivers do not transfer data when more then 64 columns are mapped in an activity. This issue has been resolved. -- The DB2 Connector was not working consistently on data types when using multi-value data. This has been resolved. Other: -- If LEI crashes on an AIX system, quitting LEI does not clean up semaphores. This issue has been resolved. -- The Quit server command caused leaks for every LEI task that was shut down. This issue has been resolved. -- On UNIX and using the LC LSX and a dim command such as "Dim connect2 As New LCConnection ("notes")" and print command such as "Print "Notes connection dimmed", the print function only prints error codes to the Domino console. This issue has been resolved. -- The notes.ini setting EIConnectionPool setting fails to actually change default pool size. This issue has been resolved. -- Using LCConnection.Fetch() in combination with the ODBC Connector allocates RAM which is never released. This issue has been resolved. -- Inconsistent behavior in the LCField.Values option "The Value property can be assigned to set the value of all field elements." This issue has been resolved. -- The LEI command to kill an activity is not functional on UNIX. This issue has been resolved. -- In the LEI Administrator database decsadm.nsf ACL, the Administrator Group is incorrectly set to "Person". This issue has been resolved. -- The LC LSX does not correctly set the LCTOKEN_RECORD_LIMIT value when connecting to DB2. This issue has been resolved. -- When you start LEI as an addin task, run activities, and later issue the "tell lei q" command from the server console, the LEI task may remain running. Threads may remain even when the activities finished normally. This issue has been resolved. -- LEI does not initialize correctly when the notes.ini file contains a ServerKeyFileName and a KeyFileName. This issue has been resolved. -- Some LEIACT multi-threaded tasks appear to end prematurely and report an incomplete status. This issue has been resolved. -- Using LEI installed as a Linux addin slows the Domino server. This issue has been resolved. -- Installing LEI in the c:\notes directory yields odd installation panel summary outputs but has no adverse effect on the installation. This issue has been resolved. H) Documentation Errata -- The LEI installation guide states that the migration tool is located in the Lotus\Domino directory. It is actually located in the Lotus\Domino\Data directory. -- The list of supported connectors in the Connectors and Connectivity Guide and the LEI installation guide is not current. The current list of supported connector versions is in section B of this readme file. -- The Lotus Connector for Notes chapter of the Connectors and Connectivity Guide states that to select a form, you do as follows: Click the down-arrow button to view a list of forms in the selected data source. When you select one of the forms, all of the fields in that form are automatically inserted here. The correct procedure to specify a form from the database is as follows: 1) Select the tab "Selection Options." 2) Select the form. 3) Check required fields from the "Fields to use from form" section. In Chapter 13 of the LEI user guide, in the Using Stored Procedures in Virtual Document Events, the following two statements require change as noted below. The statement "Second, for all the events except the delete event, ALL the external system table data fields mapped in the Virtual Document activity must be present as parameters. No other parameters are allowed. For a delete event stored procedure, only the EINOTEID is required" should be changed to "Second, for the create and update events, ALL the external system table data fields mapped in the Virtual Document activity must be present as parameters. No other parameters are allowed. For the open and delete events stored procedure, only the EINOTEID is required". The statement "For Create or Update events, in addition to the mapped data fields, stored procedures must accept the EINOTEID field as an input parameter: For Open events, in addition to the mapped data fields, stored procedures must accept the EINOTEID field as an input/output parameter. For Delete events, only the EINOTEID must be mapped as an input parameter" should be changed to "For Create or Update events, in addition to the mapped data fields, stored procedures must map the EINOTEID field as an input parameter. For Open and Delete events, only the EINOTEID must be mapped as an input parameter."
